Scripts Pro - Screenwriting on the Go App Reviews

I use Scrivener and was in the middle of a project when I got my iPad. I so wanted to use the iPad and tried this. I save as FinalDraft, email the material, import into Scrivener and Im good to go!

Completely unusable for working with feature length projects from final draft. Absolute waste of money. The lag on the keyboard makes it impossible to work with, not to mention the frequent crashes. I got screwed. "Pro?" Absolutely not for pros, avoid at all costs! Was not able to use this program even once to edit a script. Will update my review if they fix all the problems, right now this is the most I have been ripped off in the app store. How can they charge for a program that is completely broken? Avoid!

Unfortunately, the claim that Scriptspro can import CELTX files is misleading. Yes, it will import the dialogue and character names, but all other notes, stage directions, panel descriptions are lost in the conversion. For all practical purposes the feature is unusable. The developers claim that this will be fixed in an upcoming update, but I didnt spend six dollars for an alpha candidate.

This app has many positives, but one huge negative. The more you write the more it lags while typing ... Im up to seventy pages and it takes a few seconds per letter, when typed, to show up. Sometimes this causes the app to crash. It makes writting much more difficult when in the middle of a thought. One major positive is the quickness in response from the creator when addressing issues. However at this point theres no solution for the lagging and we might have to wait till 4.0. UPDATE: since the release of iOS 4 this app was updated and is now completely unusable. You cant write anything at all. Wait for the fix. UPDATE: its almost November and theres still NO FIX I WANT MY MONEY BACK! UPDATE: Dont waste your money. The developer has not produced a fix and when I asked for my money back he told me to contact iTunes. I did and I got my money back. This app was good but its crap now. UPDATE: Deleted.

Perfect scripting application for my phone. Easy to create, edit and share scripts with others. Definitely worth the price.

The fact that I can open and save Final Draft (.fdx) files is worth the price of admission. Great bit of kit that will only get better.

After comparing screenwriting apps over and over I decided this would be the best but found it to be problematic and not as great as the reviews make it out to be. You can write no problem, theyve nailed that, but there are many small yet annoying bugs in the app. Minor issue: No retina support, no auto-capitalization when entering fields in title page editor. Bigger issues: Crashes when importing scripts via wi-fi, freezes when browsing my script library, read mode doesnt let me past title page. Add to that lack of support for Final Draft 7 and earlier, no Dropbox support (though the upcoming version promises it, but no news on that for over a month), no AirPrint, and an overall lackluster look and feel (and upgrade promised for the new version) make this app just ok. You can write on it but prepare to be frustrated.

Before this update, Scripts Pro was merely adequate. The update brings a much improved user interface and enhancements making it my favorite screen writing app.

This is certainly the most fully featured and easy to use writing tool. But it has some near fatal flaws. It tends to crash a lot. The character delete is very buggy, I accidentally pasted a URL into a character name and it ended up in the roster permanently. When I tried to remove it, it deleted nearly every scene in my script. All I can say is back up to drop box often or you will lose your entire script. Finally the worst flaw is the pages dont scroll properly when the virtual keyboard is up. The text gets hidden behind it, it also fails to understand the split keyboard placement. I do love this app but these flaws make it next to impossible to get serious with it. Fix these and Ill go from a 2 to a 5 in a heartbeat.

The update made all the difference. I was ready to drop the app for something else but after the update... Well that made all the difference. Scripts Pro worked smoother, was easer to work with. It ever looked better. I do most of my writing on my iPad and iPhone and the built in iCloud sync is wonderful. Its an app Im keeping.

This app is great but really needs a PDF exporter!

Its great, however it occasionally crashes and ruins the format of large portions of the script that was being worked on (upon app crash). The aforementioned PDF file type export would be a nice tool to have as well.

This app is good for what I need it to do and I have it on my iPhone, iPad and through my window program that has nothing to do with this app.

Scripts Pro is one of the best apps for iPhone, as far as script writing is concerned. It allows me to do everything I want to with a script seamlessly, and then export for use in Final Draft on PC or Mac.

I bought this app to write a script for a project I started working on while on the go. I hadnt tried any other apps for this. I must say this was a great buy. Works great, and helps me focus on what I need to do...writing! Highly recommended.

Outlining tools and even better integration with Final Draft would make this flawless.

Up until the december update I had nothing but good things to say about this app but since the last update this app has crashed multiple times and multiple times I have lost an significant amount of work done on my writing. I have made the developer aware of this but there hasnt been a response let alone something done to fix this crashing issue. Therefore until they fix the crashing issues that have been occurring I will no longer use this app.
