Scripts Pro - Screenwriting on the Go App Reviews

Absolutely unacceptable for a paid app like this. I just wrote a script, saved it, and the script is nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere on the app and its gone. I was able to find an older version of the script and some old ones Ive written, but one of the old ones is corrupt for no reason other than the app being terrible. I am so disappointed. Wrote a script start to finish, only to have it deleted by the apps inability to save properly.

This software is almost okay for being a short (less than 10 pages) screenwriting software. Anything more than that and it lacks features and its slower to type on. Its very pretty though. But otherwise it has issues exporting to pdf sometimes. You cant just tab or return to automatically add character names and you must hit the dialogue box after hitting return after a character name.

The app deleted a script I wrote. I cant find the script. I saved it tried going back to it and the entire thing was gone.... Dont get this app.

I used to love this app now I can neither import or export my files from dropbox making it nearly worthless to me. I will continue to leave negative reviews daily until this is fixed.

I thoroughly enjoy using this app. Its intuitive - I was quickly up and running and it didnt take too long to get acquainted with all of the functions and menu options. I appreciate that all of your work syncs up nicely in the cloud so that if you want to continue working on your iPhone after you had been working on your iPad, you can easily pick up where you left off. In the future, I do hope that more formats become available. It would be nice to have the option of creating stageplays, sitcoms, character bios, etc. It would nicely flesh out the app a bit more. Overall, I love this app!

This program is very reliable and quite excellent wherever you may be. It takes a little bit to get used to, but once you get accustomed to the software, it flows like magic. Also, the customer response team is very quick to respond to any feedback given, which is something I have not experienced with any other company. I hope they continue their excellent work.

I bought this app trusting in the reviews I read, and because I desperately wanted to get my scripts up and running but on a mobile platform basis. I was not disappointed. This is the perfect app for screenplay writing on an iPad.

I switched to this app from another screenwriting app, because I was extremely frustrated with its performance. ScriptsPro is extremely easy to use and everything is formatted perfectly upon export. A few things prevent this from being a five-star app right now: 1. Importing existing .txt files can be hit-or-miss. I tried importing some scripts from my previous app into ScriptsPro but they would not import. I was forced to start typing one script from scratch. 2. No Landscape Preview Mode: You can type your script in Landscape mode, but when you want to preview your script and flip through its pages, you have to rotate to Portrait Mode. Not a deal-breaker, but a bit inconvenient when you use a Bluetooth keyboard. 3. Preview Mode always defaults to the very beginning of your script. So, if you are reviewing your script and stop to revise something on page 20, as soon as you hit Preview again, you have to start flipping from the title page.

Cant see scripts, new or old. Cant create. Uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing. This was a great app. Do not buy if you would like to I dont know save your scripts or bring them up at a later date.

Update: I have talked to their support about the issue, and got quick responses. Great support and really awesome that there is a previous history to bring back scripts that were deleted. Raised my score! I have used this app for a long time and I loved it. It is easy to use and navigate and very fun. I am not sure if it is the new update but I when a I had recently opened the app I see two of the same scripts. So I tested both. One would open and the other would open and close automatically with a pop up message saying, "Could not open the file. Please try again later." It has been coming up everyday for the past couple of weeks, hoping that the developers would fix the issue. I then deleted one of the scripts that had the, "Could not open the file. Please try again later." After deleting, I realize the entire script keep saying that message and now I lost my work after typing so many pages. It is ridiculous that the app wont even open my file or fix the issue. I am not sure if it is just me or if anyone else is having the same issue. I just cant believe that I lost my work due to a software issue.

Easy to write and especially edit scripts during commutes and late at night in bed. Love this app and have used it for years. Also a great way to convert final draft to celtx seamlessly when need be. Title screen for some reason needs to be re-entered when converted to and from from final draft, but minor issue. Overall awesome and one of the reasons i own an iPhone.

Found a bug in the first minute of using it. I created a script, clicked on the blank page, tapped on the menu to bring up options, hit cancel, and a page pops up that says Label. Neither the Done or the Edit button do anything and it just leaves you stuck on that page forcing you to force quit the app. Not a good start.

This app was fine at first and worked for a solid year but in the last couple updates its gone to hell. It wont upload new scripts for me, whether I drag and drop from my computer or use the cloud to import. Ended up losing a couple scripts because of it. When I try and open new scripts or older ones it just says "error." Ive tried reinstalling it and nothing works. Wrote an email to customer support and got nothing. Now for some reason when Im typing pages it cuts off half the page so I can only see a sliver of what should be on screen. Going to stick to using Celtx on my computer.

Update: I have FINALLY figured out how to use this script app on my own, and I have found that it actually is a really great script app. I went back and gave it 5 stars. Its format is very easy once you figure out how to work it. I actually love it. When I start my scenes, it gives me all the options of the different transitions. I highly recommend this app to anyone interested in writing a script. Its an excellent guide. Im not getting this script app. For some odd reason it multiplies my titles with a number at the end of each title in the library. It lost a ton of what I just typed so Im very frustrated about that. I hope that I can get that retrieved. This app is just too expensive for me to have to go through this inconvenience. I hope I can get some assistance with this if not, then I want my money back.

I purchased this app expecting it to work with my Final Draft documents. It will absolutely not open any of them, just ever long error messages. Will not even open them after converting them to .txt files. Emailed "support" and havent heard back. Hoping this review might somehow get their attention. Looks like Im out $11.99. Youve been warned!

I had 6 scenes completed and then highlighted and clicked the "select all" feature since I needed to duplicate the script and make a second revised draft. I accidentally hit return and EVERYTHING was deleted. Luckily I already copied it but when I pasted it, it did not return to the correct format and would not let me put it back! Waste of money now due to that.

Its so great to for on my computer in Final draft, export to my phone. Make changes in the road. Then bring it back to final draft. I love it!!!! Only reason I havent given it w 5 is because it would be nice to have a cosmetic face lift to bring it up to par with the new iPhones.

The celtx app allows you to change elements by hitting enter or tab on a keyboard. This does not, which is a big handicap. Come on guys, this is the only app I found that can do fdx files.

Ive used Scripts Pro for a while. Ive been quite satisfied with the app as a Final Draft alternative. But the real reason they get five stars from me is the ridiculously good support theyve offered me. I had a problem opening an FDX file, contacted the, and nearly immediately had a response and soon after, they solved my issue. Possibly the best customer service experienced Ive ever had.
